Thanksgiving Point

Thanksgiving Point 5k. This was Krista's first race. Me, Jacque and Krista ran this. I was so excited for her to run. Crossing the finish line your first time is very exhilarating! We stayed in a hotel the night before the race, and looking out the window the morning of the race, we see SNOW!!! BRRRR. This was during the "Tulip Festival."

My time was 33.25.9, which put me in 5th place in my age group! Jacque came in 9th in her age group.

There was about 500 people. We all started out together, then just kind of split up and did out thing. Ashlee took pictures as we crossed the finish line. Jacque and I waited for Krista right at the finish line and gave her a huge hug and congratulations when she came across. We all got a finishing medal.

The refreshments after the race were awesome. Chocolate milk, water, powerade, bagels with cream cheese, cookies, oranges, bananas, and grapes.

Millville to Providence/

Ran after work today. Drove to Millville, and parked on 100 west. Ran to Zollinger Park in Providence and then back to my car!! 51 minutes of continuous jogging/running. A 5 minute walk warm-up, then a 10 minute cool down. Super impressed that I did this!! I chose this route because it is the last part of the TOU half marathon.

CAPSA 5k

I ran with the South Cache Running Club today at the CAPSA run from violence 5k. Jacque did NOT walk at all! So proud of her. She got tired and started slowing down, but she kept a consistent jog. We ran right with each other today. It started to sprinkle, then it started to rain! We finished in 34.22.

Celebration lunch with Krista at Panda Express. When we arrived at Panda Express, it was raining cats and jammer kids!!!

Snowman Shuffle

Jacque and I ran the Snowman Shuffle 5k, and my mom and Krista did the 1 mile walk. This was a challenging course. Started out uphill, and kept going up. Nice weather, about 40 degrees. It was nice to get out of our valley's inversion and get some nice fresh air. Celebration lunch at Maddox. My time: 36 minutes.

FIRST RACE

Perfect day for a race. Today is the Wasatch Woman Love Your Body 6k which is held at Thanksgiving Point. This is an all women event, and there are alot more women here than I thought would be.

I talked my mom, sister Terri, and daughters into running or walking this with me. Well, my daughters really didn't have a choice, I just signed them up.

It was fun having a "girl weekend." We went down the night before and stayed at the Hampton. Our pre-race dinner was Maddox! We got extra rolls to go, figured we would add some yummy carbs.

Mom and Terri met us that morning. They arrived quite early, so they came over to the hotel and had breakfast with us. Mom and Terri walked it. Me and the girls ran it. I felt that I was holding my girls back, so I told them just to go at their own pace and I would meet them at the end.

I was so nervous, and focused on running, that I didn't see any of the cool stuff around me. I was informed after the race that there was a really neat italian garden, water fall, and other nice gardens that we ran through. Me.........I saw the path I was running on, the persons feet in front of me, the little boy handing me a cup at the water station, and the finish line.
My time was 42 minutes! I was able to jog the whole event. Super excited to see my mom and Terri come around to the finish line. They walked it, and they were not last! Mom was the oldest female competitor. She is AWESOME!
They had a bouncy slide thing there at the finish line, and Ben threw up in the bounce house. By the time Jessy got a wet wipe to wipe it up, some other kid was sliding down. OOOPS. We all laughed about that one.

Celebration lunch with my other sister Patti, and my nieces Krista, Jessy and her son Ben, and Jenny. We ate at Zuppas.
