I ho-hummed around the house for a few hours, then finally made the decision that I would have to succumb to Satan's Sidewalk. I checked FB just before I left, and my friend Tara said that she was going outside to run! Well, the seed had been planted, and I went with it.
I quickly changed my running outfit to a more climate friendly attire, and headed into Providence, to run one of my favorite routes. I did take clothing for the gym, just in case it got too cold.
Running today was a slow and safe pace. I tried to run on the sidewalks when I could, when they were shoveled. I had to run on the road at times too, and when traffic would approach, I would scoot over as much as I could. At certain points I was running through wet, soft, slippery, slushy snow. At mile 8.25, I just wanted to be done. I wasn't that cold. I wasn't exhausted. My legs were moving pretty slow and I just wanted to be done. Took me about 2 hours to go 10 miles today, so running in the cold and snow is alot slower.

I took my hydration pack with me, and when I went to get a drink, my Powerade was a slushy!!!
I am crossing off something on my bucket list today. The day that my mileage exceeded the temperature! When I got back to the car, the temp was 5, and my mileage today was 10! So ya, In Your Face Jack Frost!
Today I discovered that I like running in the cold. It's not as bad as people think it is. Now if I could just figure out how to keep my camera battery warm. (I was only able to take 1 photo outside today, because it was so cold. But when I got back to the car, it worked.)
Niiiiiiice!!!!! Crazy what we runners will do out in the frigid barren wasteland of winter!! I would rather hit the treadmill though honestly with a good movie or show:) Keep up the great mileage my friend.
